Committed to the health of people and the environment

Health starts with how we are producing our products. It is part of our philosophy to contribute to a clean and healthy environment for our employees, for our clients, for people and animals and for the next generations. Since 2002 we have operated a certified environmental management system according to ISO 14001 and EMAS. In the past 16 years of experience, we can show sustained success in our pursuit of more sustainability.

Certified responsibility

We operate in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001. Furthermore, we have been audited by an accredited environmental verifier according to Regulation (EC) No. 1221/2009 and are entitled to carry the EMAS logo.

We joined the United Nations Global Compact and explicitly commit ourselves to the ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

With these principles we want to permanently ensure the competitiveness of our business and warrant our jobs. We appeal to our employees to join our ongoing process of improvement and customer orientation.

On the way towards sustainability

As an energy-intensive company we have placed our main focus in the saving of electric energy. In 2023 we had continued our comprehensive energy saving programme and managed to further lower our specific energy consumption (reference value is the quantity of input plastic) to 1,20 kWh/kg (from 2.9 kWh/kg in year 2001). This means a reduction by 59%!

Significant reduction of emitted greenhouse gases

Since the beginning of 2018 we were able to switch our electricity supply to 100% renewable sources which leads to a significant reduction of emitted greenhouse gases. The graph below shows the emissions of CO2 per metric ton of input plastic material.
